BuzzBands.LA’s songwriter series at Lot 1 Cafe continues tonight!
(We moved it up one week this month, because we didn’t want to ruin your Valentine’s day plans.)
Buzz Bands LA presents Electric Flower (the collaborative musical project of Imaad Wasif and Secret Machine’s Josh Garza) at Harvard and Stone.
It’s not my birthday, but you can guess whose it is.
Headlining on Oct. 11 will be Joey and Andy Siara of the Henry Clay People, who will perform solo material in something of a brotherly brawl. Who knows, they might even do a couple of songs together. Also performing will be Soft Swells, the duo of Tim Williams and Matt Welsh who just released their debut 7-inch “Every Little Thing” in August. And the evening will kick off with a set from Josh Rifkind, founder and head honcho of the Songs for Kids Foundation, a nonprofit that brings musicians into hospitals and special-needs facilities to perform for children. Proceeds from the door ($5) will benefit Songs for Kids.
The event also coincides with LA Beer Week’s Musical Beer Crawl, and Lot 1 will have Weihenstephaner Hopplosion on tap for the occasion (and will offer $4 points).
(Oh, and it’s also someone’s BIRTHDAY — that someone being a Buzz Bands staff member who is not Seraphina. Her birthday was back in July.)
I kind of adore this flyer.
